Carry-out regular audits in order to promote responsible humane and compassionate treatment of livestock throughout the production process and in particular to reduce the suffering and stress of slaughter stock in transport and in abattoir situations, as well as in feed-lots and sale yards. In order to achieve this LAWA provides training and assistance to abattoir personal, regarding the most humane methods and procedures in the handling and slaughtering of livestock. Also to advise and assist in the design and equipment and procedures calculated to reduce pain, suffering and stress in animals in the slaughter process. Researching and proposing the design and structure of vehicles which may be used in the transport of slaughter stock and in the required driving techniques, correct loading procedures, stress prevention, as well as legal requirements.
