People for Awareness on Disability issues (PADI)
PADI was established in 1987 as there was a need to educate Non-Disabled persons in all sectors of the community about disability. PADI conducts "Experiential Learning Life Skills Programmes" utilising roll play exercises, depicting sensory disabilities. Our facilitators all whom are people with disabilities, conduct these workshops. Our PADI outlets in Bushbuck Ridge and KZN are funded by PADI Head Office. Due to the financial crisis being experienced we are finding it extremely difficult to increase our client base and extend our vital Services to other Provinces as well. We would also like to increase our facilitators wages.
