Educating Women to Prevent Trafficking in Africa
INTRODUCTION The 300 Project is an organization dedicated to combatting trafficking of young African women. We have been at the forefront of the fight against human trafficking for more than three (3) years, through campaigns, awareness programs and rehabilitation programs. The 300 Project is the official arm of Awareness for Child Trafficking Africa in Nigeria for West Africa.. PROBLEM STATEMENT In the course of our fight against trafficking (especially in young African women), we have come to realize that lack of education creates a toxic cocktail of vulnerability that makes it easier for traffickers to exploit their victims. Because of this educational loophole in Africa, these exploitations will keep reoccurring. This is why we have come up with a project titled Education Against Trafficking. We have partnered with various institutions, corporate organizations and individuals to provide scholarships for 300 young African women in 2020. OBJECTIVES OF EDUCATION AGAINST TRAFFICKING.: We hope to achieve the following objectives, with this project; 1) Provide free University education for 300 young African women ages 16-25. 2) Empower these women to know their rights to enable them stand up for themselves. 3) Combat human trafficking. 4) Play a major role in curbing illiteracy in young African women. SCHOLARSHIP PACKAGES: This scholarship would focus mainly on young women between the ages of 16-25, who have finished their secondary school education but cannot further themselves to University level. The scholarship would be in 3 categories; 1) Tuition free- The student would not be required to pay the school fees, but he or she would be required to pay for learning materials and accommodation in the school 2) Tuition and accommodation free - The student would not be required to pay for tuition and accommodation, but he or she would be required to pay for learning materials. 3) Full scholarship- students in this category would not be required to pay for anything. A detailed report of the student’s educational progress would be sent to you every session, to enable you keep track on your student. You can adopt as many students as you wish. Donations: Another way you can show your support to this project is by donating to it. Not all students might end up getting adopted, but with your donations we would still be able to send them to school. A detailed report would also be sent to you every session, if you choose to donate directly to the project. SUMMARY The vision of The 300 Project is to build a world void of Human Trafficking, and we believe that we can use the Education Against Trafficking to bring us closer to achieving our vision. Your support towards this project would help create a long lasting impact in the lives of 300 young women and help go a long way in the fight against human trafficking. We anticipate your positive response.
