POPUP Agricultural Skills Programme News
It has been a very exciting and productive season here at POPUP Soshanguve Centre. With our veggies growing at the speed of light! We are enjoying a bountiful winter harvest. Here is an update on what has been happening the last couple of months.
We have hosted two outreach groups. Through their hard work, we managed to plant the whole tunnel with spinach, onions, beetroot and cabbage. We want to thank all the volunteers for their hard work and time they invested in the programme.
Our training also kicked off with a bang. We started presenting monthly workshops. Where people from the community can come and experience what growing your own food is all about. we are grateful to partner with K.O.S. A community network initiative which aims to supply food and other necessities to people through local hubs. We are supplying them with veggies, fresh from our garden. Go and check out their website: www.kos.shopping
We are excited to announce that our full-time skills programme is up and running. With 11 students enrolled in the programme. They are all very eager to grow and learn more about how to start their own sustainable businesses. We want to thank everyone involved in the project, sponsors, volunteers and staff. Without your support and prayers this programme can't grow and empower those who are disempowered.
