67 days for Madiba

Celebrated globally, the importance of this year’s Nelson Mandela Day is not lost as the pandemic has further exacerbated several disparities for the most vulnerable communities. We invite you to join us for 67 days as we commemorate Tata Madiba, and continue to honour his values through our work.

In support of the official phased-in return to school, JAM SA aims to support our Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre partners as they reopen and prepare to welcome back their young pupils. Keeping the children safe is of utmost importance but sadly, many of these centres do not have the financial means, especially after an extended lockdown period. This, coupled with the added burden of many children attending school simply to receive a meal, will place added strain on these centres.

Our 2020 Nelson Mandela Day campaign will run for 67 days, and we hope to be able to raise funds to provide ECD readiness packs and further support to the ECD centres.

Donations can be made towards the following:

– Provision of necessary protective equipment (R4000 per ECD)
– A general donation towards our ongoing #COVID19 efforts

"Overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life." - Nelson Mandela
